Dimapur, December 1 (MExN):  A library hall of the Bade Student’s Union (BSU) was formally inaugurated by Azheto Zhimomi, MLA, 3-Dimapur-III A/C and dedicated by Rev Fr John PM, the parish priest of the Holy Cross, Dimapur in Bade Village on November 30.

Bade is one of the adopted villages under SBI Foundation Gram Seva Programme, implemented by ANMA Integrated Development Association (AIDA), Don Bosco Dimapur.

The hall was inaugurated in the presence of Suveena D, Assistant Program Manager, SBIF, Mumbai; AIDA officials; and villagers.

As per a press release, Rev Fr TT Joseph, Mission Procurator of the Province of Dimapur and Associate Director of AIDA, at the inaugural event dwelt on the value of book reading hin the era internet dependancy while Kennedy Khutsoh, Chairman Bade Village Council (BVC) lauded AIDA and SBIF's initiative in the village

SBIF's Suveena highlighted the works done by the Foundation and noted that the library project was “very symbolic” as it was done by the students of Bade village for their future and for the coming generation.

Zhimomi also said that the government sectors cannot reach out to all the sectors to promote the growth of the villages, and often non-governmental organisations and the villagers themselves must learn to come to the aid of the developmental activities. Appreciating  the current intervention,  he also urged the student community to at least spend 30 minutes in a day at the library after school.
