
DIMAPUR, APRIL 7 (MExN): The weeklong annual sports and games of Baptist Mission School concluded on Saturday. A press note informed that Company Commander of the 19 Assam Rifles, Captain HS Liddar had declared the week long sports and games meet open on March 31 in the Centenary compound of Jotsoma Baptist Church.
In his inaugural speech as the chief guest, Capt.H.S.Liddar encouraged the students to look inward and realize their potentials to develop them. He emphasized that sports and games are the integral parts of education and that it strengthens physical and mental abilities. Children become more disciplined through sports and it also contributes to their studies, he stated.
Children participated in different disciplines of competitions like athletics and games. There was a friendly Volley ball match between the alumni and the present batch on the closing day. The closing ceremony started with the invocation prayer by Kerriezono, Assistant Headmistress of the school. The welcome address was delivered by, VJ Thomas, Headmaster of the school and the vote of thanks was proposed by
Arenla Nagi.
Baptist Mission School Education Board Chairman, Board Members, other dignitaries, teachers and parents were also present for the function.
