Pfutsero, July 15 (MExN): The 29th Baptist Theological College (BTC) Foundation Day thanksgiving service was held on July 15.
Zeneikhonuo Vimero, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Pfutsero, who graced the occasion as speaker, shared on the topic ‘God’s Divine Power’ based on 2 Peter 1:3-11, informed a press release from BTC principal, Yiepetso Wezah. “We have the promise of God to live a glorious life through the power of God. We are partakers of his divine nature here on earth and in heaven,” she stated. The speaker also challenged the congregation that all the believers must possess the divine nature of God.
The knowledge of Christ, she added, can be attained through meditating on the word of God and prayer. Asserting that we must live a life acceptable to God, Vimero stated this can be attained through “faith goodness; and to goodness, and to knowledge, self-control, and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love” (vv-5-7).
“Love surpasses all other virtues. Love is not a mere emotion, it is an act, which must be practiced among family members and extend to the whole humanity,” it was further stated. The speaker also challenged the college community to practice brotherly and sisterly love. She cited examples of how she invests herself to help the neediest people.
Meanwhile, she urged BTC to adopt Zero Waste College by introducing wet and dry dustbins. The wet waste can be converted to manure and dry waste, which can be recycled should be reused and which cannot be converted should be burnt, she added. Students were also challenged to have far sighted vision in order to create a beautiful world to live in.
The thanksgiving service was attended by CBCC staff, CWWS staff, pastors and church leaders.
