Barak Extended Team Convenor submitted the memorandum to Union Railway Minister through Advisor Tovihoto Ayemi on May 1.
Dimapur, May 1 (MExN): The Convenor of Barak Extended Team Dimapur which was formed in April 2019 submitted a memorandum to Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal through Advisor, Power, Government of Nagaland Tovihoto Ayemi for introduction of a direct passenger train from Dimapur railway station to Agartala.
The demand was for the convenience of people of Barak valley (South Assam) and Tripura who are residing in Nagaland and face untold hardships during the train journey due to non-availability of a direct passenger train from Dimapur railway station to Agartala, a press statement from the Team informed on Saturday.
As per the statement, the Advisor gave “a patient hearing” to the plight of the people and has assured to take up the matter on a priority note with the Union Railway Minister.
