A standard Basketball court constructed under NREGA, Rural Development department has been inaugurated today at Zapami village under Phek district.

It was inaugurated by Vekhrolo Koza, Block Development Officer (BDO), Pfutsero.

Speaking on the occasion, Koza called upon the youth to make the best use of the provided facility to excel and make the community proud.

Koza assured to take up the matter with the higher authority for gallery facility for this standard basketball court.
He stressed on the need to engage in recreational activities to stay safe from health risks.

He lauded the semblance of unity among the villagers, which made the various developments possible within the village.
Zapami VDB secretary Kedoutsolhi Wetsah informed that the basketball court was constructed at Rs. 5.30 lakh.

Zapami village has achieved 100% CGI sheet roofing to all household in the year 1984 (First in Phek District). 100% Electrification to all household in the year 1986 (First in Phek District).

The village received the commendation Certificate Best VDB in over all Rural Development during last 25 years (1980-2005).

The village received Nirmal Gram Puraskar (NGP) Award under Total sanitation Campaign in the year 2009 (First in Phek District). Received Best performing VDB Award by the DRDA Phek for the year 2014-2015. Received State Level Award for the best performing VDB Phek District during 2016-2017.

The village also achieved 100% CGI Sheet Green Painting to all household in the year 2022 and received Best performing VDB Secretary Award in Phek District during 2021-2022, according to Wetsah.

The programme was chaired by Rite Khutso, chairman Village Education Committee while Zapami Baptist Church pastor Chikhro Khutso invoked God’s blessing.

Zapami Village Council chairman Tewelhi Khutso delivered welcome address.

Kuwe-ii and Weshe-ii Kreo presented special number.

Wekhazii Kreo proposed vote of thanks.
