Mon, May 7 (MExN): The Bhartiya Adarsh Samachar Press Association (BASPA) Mon District, on May 7, has highlighted alleged irregularities in the functioning of government schools in Mon District.
A press note from the district president Hejei Konyak informed that the association lead by its president recently conducted the 1st phase surprise checking on some schools in the district and detected several anomalies. During the checking, it found out that in Government Middle School Chenmoho, out of 9 (Nine) teaching staff only 3 (three) teachers were performing their duties.
One teacher has been absent for 4 years completely, it added. It further said that at GMS Wangti, the classes were being conducted at the VEC Chairman’s private residence and not at the school.
The Government High School, Chen Town, the association maintained, is also being neglected by its appointed teachers and spoiling the life of younger generation.
Stating that such irregularities is a violation of child right and right to education act, the association requested the higher authority and concerned department to look into the matter immediately and redress the same.
