Battle of the Bands: 16 bands selected for Live Round on Sept 9

The Department of Youth Resources & Sports, Government of Nagaland in association with Task Force for Music & Arts (TaFMA) Nagaland is organizing beat contest billed as ‘Battle of the Bands’ for college and higher secondary students.

16 bands have been selected for Live Round. It includes; Wangngai Band (Wangkhao Government College, Mon), The Apprentices (Bautung Govt. Hr. Sec School, Longleng), The Young Prodigies (St John Hr Sec School, Tuensang), Silver Bullet (Zisaji Presidency College, Kiphire), Xaverite Band (St. Xavier College, Peren), Stereo Groove (Clark Theological College, Mokokchung), Call of Sublime (Tetso College, Dimapur), Euphonic (Patkai Christian College, Chumoukedima), The Hope Maverick (Hope Academy, Chumoukedima), D’escape  (G.Rio School Kohima), Rythmic Band (St. Joseph’s College Jakhama (Kohima), DPSD (DPS School, Dimapur), The Cassiopeiae (Holy Cross Hr. Sec. School, Dimapur), The Orphic Band (Baptist College,Kohima), Front Fern (Queen Mary Hr. Sec. School, Mokokchung) and Rustic Harmony (Baptist Hr. Sec. School, Tseminyu).

The selected bands will go for Live Round on September 9 at RCEMPA, Jotsoma from 9:30 AM onwards and finals at 4:00 PM on the same day.

The winner will win a cash prize of Rs. 1 lakh while 2nd and 3rd place will receive Rs. 70,000 and Rs. 50,000 respectively. There will be five consolation prizes of Rs 10,000 each.

Organized by Youth Resources & Sports department, the event is curated by TaFMA with Sky Entertainment and Hornbill TV as Ground partner and Media partner respectively.
