DIMAPUR, AUGUST 11 (MExN): Bosco College of Teacher Education (BCTE). Dimapur held its new academic year cum freshers’ day 2018 on August 10 with Dr.Fr. Sunny Joseph, Rector of Good Shepherd Seminary (GSS), Dimapur as chief guest and Fr. Vengakunnel Thomas, Rector of Salesian College of Higher Education (SCHE), Dimapur as the guest of honour.
A total number of 100 new teacher-trainees were accorded welcome to BCTE Dimapur. Dr.Fr. Joseph Thuruthel, BCTE Principal delivered the welcome address, stated a press release issued by Jonas Kerketta, BCTE, Dimapur.
Dr.Fr. Sunny Joseph, Rector of GSS, Dimapur in his address urged that teachers should creatively create an atmosphere of love and humour enabling the students to learn more joyfully. Fr. Vengakunnel Thomas, Rector SCHE, Dimapur underlined the fact that the teacher-trainees should obtain, not only the B. Ed degree but also should strive to attain the Bachelor of Understanding the students and their needs/difficulties if they really want to help the students.
The newly inducted Vice Principal of BCTE, Dr.Fr. Nicholas R. Guangdiat referred to the motto of BCTE, Exemplo Docemus (‘We teach by example’) and reminded the teacher-trainees that teachers teach more by their example than their words.
The other highlights of the programme included songs, special presentation, and modern-traditional dance etc.
