The day is also observed for citizens to reflect on the values of the Constitution, i.e., Secular, democracy, justice, liberty, equality and fraternity.
“The freedom that our Constitution gave us and that we enjoy today, at times we casually take for granted and we don't tend to value the priceless freedom that we enjoy in a free society. But without them our lives will not be meaningful,” remarked Abraham while citing out the fundamental rights entitled to all the citizens of India.
Quoting Ambedkar, “We the people of India adopted and enacted and gave ourselves this Constitution. We the people are also its keepers,” Abraham urged the gathering to be eternally vigilant to keep the Constitution alive.
