On June 2, 33 students graduated from Faith Theological Seminary on June 2 which held its 8th Convocation at its Chapel hall with Rev. Dr. Visielie Angami, Principal, Faith Theological Seminary as the speaker.
Speaking on the theme, ‘Faithful Servants pass on the flag of the gospel’, Rev. Dr. Visielie stated how the cost of discipleship is high in today’s broken world and the call to be faithful seems more urgent than before. “To be faithful is to be true and to be trustworthy. Be faithful to people and in service.” exhorted the Principal who mentioned that to pass on the flag of the gospel, one needs to proclaim Christ sacrificially, nurture new disciples, live a good example and finish well to pass on the flag of the gospel. Stressing further on discipleship, the need to endure hardship and remaining faithful to one’s commitment and work was highlighted. A disciple wins souls despite hardships, said Rev. Dr. Visielie who urged the graduating students to remain trustworthy and stand firm on their integrity in any circumstances they are put in to. Quoting the bible verse Philippians 3: 14 to fight the good fight and finish the race, Rev. Dr. Visielie hoped that the students will one day reach the ultimate goal.
Kevigwelhou Kuotsu, M. Div who delivered a speech on behalf of the graduating students lauded the Seminary and the faculty for imparting values and knowledge to the graduating students. “Hard work is not an easy way but it is definitely a sure way to success.” asserted Kuotsu who further reminded the calling of the graduating students which is to extend the kingdom of God and reaching out to people and spread the Good news.
Special awards were also given where the Academic best student was awarded to Asho Khing, Best Thesis awarded to Küveseto Khüsoh, Most Improved Student to Senuo Mere, Best All Round Student awarded to Kevigwelhou Kuotsu and Best Academic Student in B. Th awarded to Kuviete-o Ritse.
Faith Theological Seminary was established in 2008 and at present have 14 faculty members, and 11 Board of Directors members. Since its establishments, the Seminary has held 7 convocations with 139 students graduating from the Seminary. This year, 33 students have graduated in M.Div, M. Min, M.Div extension and B.Th.
