Miss Nagaland visits Zunbehoto to raise awareness on livelihood and income generation
DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 14 (MExN): Reigning Miss Nagaland, Vikuonuo Sachu visited Zunheboto district as part of the ‘Beauty with a Purpose’ project to generate awareness on the theme ‘Livelihood Generation and Education.’
The project is being organised by the Beauty and Aesthetics Society of Nagaland in association with the Entrepreneur Associates and travel partners India Trail. It has so far covered 3 districts now and aims to cover all 12 districts of the State.
The visit to Zunheboto covered Zunheboto Town, Luvishe Village, Sukhai Village, Asukhomi Village and Sukhalu Village from February 9 to 12.
The organizers stressed on the need to make use of the State’s tremendous potential and resources, with agriculture being a main focus.
They stated that there is a need to practice ‘Made in Nagaland.’ “We have been extremely dependent on the resources outside of our State rather than utilising and conserving what we have with us," they added.
They further noted that "in parts of Nagaland, life out there is poor and sad. From not being able to receive the facilities of proper drinking water, lack of electricity supply, lack of public transport, lack of medical healthcare facilities, lack of marketing source and due to the unavoidable road condition, there are places where people are unable to even reach the government offices.”
The organizers stated that the project aims to educate the younger generation to start practicing ‘Made in Nagaland.’ It also hopes to help people from all parts of Nagaland to grow with unity and peace. “From here our vision to develop Nagaland can be our ultimate mission,” they stated.
