Mao Dimapur | January 23 The ongoing season of Super Fight League saw another exciting event at Siri Fort, New Delhi, where the Bengaluru Tigers won against Goa Pirates winning four of six bouts. The fight, which took place on January 22, saw Naga fighter Kario Isaac Maheo, captain of Goa Pirates, make a comeback following a long break. In the first bout, Dhruv Choudhary of the Bengaluru Tigers won following a controversial decision after three rounds against fellow captain of the opposite team, Kario Isaac Maheo. In the next bout, Sylwester Hasny won the fight with his takedowns against Krishan Rawat. The third bout, Hannah Kampf defeated Thulasi Helen via submission in round 1. Vikas Singh Ruhil defeated another Fighter from the North East, Tekashi Zoramm Awia via rear naked choke (submission) in round 1 in the fourth bout of the night. In the co-main event, Goa Pirates were able to secure 5 points when Clint Czeczok won via submission (triangle choke) against Shyam Prassad in the first round. In the main event of the evening, Sandeep Kumar Dahiya won through a knock out against Michael Pereira with a big left hand in round 1 of the bout, securing 6 points for the Goa Pirates. New format Super Fight League has introduced a new format for this season. There are two groups ‘A’ and ‘B’ consisting of four teams each. Every team has six main fighters (Five male fighters and one female fighter) and six back up fighters. All the six different fighters belong to six different weight categories. The four teams compete to play League Level matches. All the matches are played between the respective teams of the allotted groups only, i.e., Group A teams do not compete against teams of group B. Two Semi Final Matches are played and a match for the third and fourth place. The SFL observes six weight categories, ranging from 115 pounds to 205 pounds. Male bantamweight (125-135pounds), Featherweight (135-145 pounds), Light weight (145-155 pounds), Welter weight (155-170 pounds), Light Heavy Weight (185-205 pounds) and Female Women’s Flyweight (115-125 pounds).
