WC-NNPGs condemn AR raid on FGN/NNC Naga Army Chief residence
Dimapur, July 29 (MExN): The Working Committee of Naga National Political Groups (WC-NNPGs) have condemned the alleged raid by the 22 Assam Rifles on July 26 at the residence of Gen. TM Rhakho, C-in-C, Naga Army, FGN/NNC located at Hebron 1, Phek Town. This may be a sign of a “big gap” between India’s governing agencies and its military establishment hinted the Committee today.
Irked, a press release from the WC-NNPGs wondered, “When there is a dialogue to resolve the Indo-Naga political issue, where is the need to raid the residence of a top military commander?” It maintained that “There was no provocation whatsoever and such raids leave a lot questions which the Assam Rifles must answer the Nagas.”
The WC-NNPGs pointed out that there may be a “big gap between Indian Army commanders and the government agencies.”
“The political Negotiations are being held with full knowledge of the Prime Minister and the Home Ministry. All information on the issue are processed down to military commanders including that of a de-facto ceasefire status with WC, six NNPGs,” the Committee affirmed.
“The co-ordination between AR officers and men at the ground appears to be nonexistent and this is a serious problem.”
The WC-NNPGs further stated that the “Assam Rifles must understand that the political talks are being held at the highest level and therefore discipline must be maintained and due regard for the ongoing political dialogue must be exhibited.”
