After the central government banned use of non-biodegradable plastic bags which was subsequently enforced by the Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC), a distribution centre of biodegradable poly bags under the name of Ayemi Enterprises was on Wednesday inaugurated in Dimapur at Dhobinalla, opposite State Bank of India.
DMC Administrator, H. Atokhe who inaugurated the Centre urged upon shopkeepers to strictly adhere to using poly bags of 40 micron and above keeping in mind the health and environmental hazards of using non-biodegradable plastic bags.
He also appealed to the shopkeepers to deliver genuine products to the customers as laid down by the DMC.
MLA and Chairman NIDC Ltd, Tovihoto was also present during the inauguration programme.
Ayemi Enterprises is one of the poly bags distributors in Dimapur and deals with plastic bags of 40 micron+ which is 100% biodegradable.
