Deputy Commissioner Dimapur, Kesonyu Yhome, has said academic degrees and educational pursuit were of little use if they do not serve humanity.

Terming Science as the backbone of human progress and development, Yhome said the spirit of inquisitiveness was crucial for Science students and that exploring of new ideas should be the focus of academicians.

“The future of Science has to be genetics. The scope of genetics and biotechnology is immense. Genetics is the concept and biotechnology the engine”, he said and underscored the need to re-orient academics and education so that students acquire scientific temperament and inquisitiveness.
