Holds meeting with NE states leaders in Manipur
Dimapur, June 30 (MExN): BJP president Amit Shah today said that BJP is all set for 2019 Lok Sabha elections and is positive to form the next government in the center.
He said this during meetings with his party leaders who are in-charge of 11 Lok Sabha seats spread across seven northeast states as part of a "drive to ensure that it wins the maximum number of these constituencies in the general election next year" at Imphal.
The host state Manipur hold the regional meet under the theme “Tolly Baithak” (group meeting) which brainstormed for the impending General Elections in 2019 at Imphal on June 30.
Shah held separate meetings with party leaders who are in-charge of Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Manipur
Among other, Ram Madhav (National Gen Secy) Ramlal, Ajay Jamwal (NE incharge), and Himanta Biswas Sharma (NEDA Chairman and Finance Minister of Assam) were also present in the meeting.
Nagaland BJP headed by president attends meeting
According to a BJP press release, the newly appointed Nagaland party president Temjen Imna Along led a delegation of PDA Ministers & Advisors from BJP as well as Senior Party members to Imphal, Manipur for attending the meeting.
The delegation included BLP Leader & Dy CM Y Patton; Paiwang Konyak, Minister for Transport Communication,Railways and Land Resources; S Pangyu Phom,Minister Health and Family Welfare; H Khehovi Yepthomi, Advisor for Tourism, Arts and Culture; Ananta Narayan Mishra,Secy(Org)BJP Nagaland; and senior members K James Vizo, Huri Zeliang, Kevechutso Douluo and Dr. Sukhato A Sema.
Speaking in the meeting Shah said the organization set up should be developed and strengthened at all Levels upto booth level.
The state unit was also directed to complete the mandal committee by August 2018 and the booth Committee by October 2018, the release said.
On hearing the reports about the comfortable alliance in the state, he encouraged the same cohesive spirit to be uphold in the days to come with proper co-ordination and consultation, it added.
The state BJP President Temjen Along also gave a brief report about the state and assured the central leaders about strengthing the organization with commitment.
While the deputy CM Y Patton and Medical minister S Pangyu Phom spoke on development lines, the released said they also appealed to the party chief to work out the needful keeping the assurance of the prime minister for the state.
After the meeting, the Nagaland BJP President Imna Along informed that, the meeting was mostly deliberated on developmental activities for the state of Nagaland.
Another press release from Nagaland Deputy Chief Minister Office also informed that Shah, during the meeting, clearly spelled out that “BJP is not a communal party but a secular political party which the party respect the sentiments of every religion and propagate secularism. “
The BJP government is planning to bring a major development across the Northeast region and also giving a special attention particularly to the state of Nagaland, it said.
During the course of meeting, the Minister (H&FW), Nagaland S. Pangnyu Phom has requested the National President for special assistance exclusively for Eastern Nagaland., it added.
Earlier, the Deputy CM & the leader of the BLP and Minister Higher & Technical Education and State President BJP Nagaland had meet Kiren Rijiju, Minister of State for Home.
