BJP alone will bag 40 seats in Manipur election: Javadekar

Newmai News Network Imphal | February 17   Union Minister for Human Resource Development (HRD) Prakash Javadekar expressed confidence here today that BJP alone would bag more than 40 seats in the upcoming Manipur assembly election and form the next ministry in the state.   Addressing media at the BJP Manipur Pradesh office, Nityapat Chuthek in Imphal, Javadekar came down heavily on the Ibobi government, accusing the Congress government of working with insurgents disturbing the peace of the state.   The Union Minister was here to campaign for BJP candidates. The saffron party has fielded its nominee in all 60 assembly seats in Manipur. The party is confident of forming the next government with comfortable majority.  The state assembly polls will be held on March 4 and 8.   He chided the Congress government headed by Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh, saying, “People here are tired of blockade, bandh and corruption.”   The HRD Minister accused the state government of adopting divide and rule policy. He said public approval of Congress has declined dramatically.   Earlier, Prakash Javadekar spoke at a flag ceremony of BJP candidate Moirangthem Hemanta, who is contesting the ensuing election from Wangjing Tentha constituency.   At the function, he said the party would form the next government in the state. He claimed that the Congress here has not been able to organise even public meeting because the party’s approval rating has reached the lowest point.
