Dimapur, January 11 (MExN): Hitting out at the statement of AICC secretary in-charge of Nagaland Dr K. Jayakumar for crediting the Indian National Congress for the inking of the Framework Agreement between the NSCN-IM and the GOI, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Nagaland Thursday accused the Congress- led UPA of playing “delay tactics” for years on the Naga Political issue.
“Everyone knows that it was only after Modi’s leadership that things are moving forward,” the Media Cell of the BJP Nagaland insisted adding that the Congress has ruled the state in the past but failed to deliver development as per the aspirations of the people. “Rather corruption bloomed in that era,” it argued.
The state unit further claimed that the BJP is “committed to Positive Secularism” and that it believes in the Constitution of India as law and as enshrined in the party Constitution.
“The party under Prime Minister Narendra Modi takes politics beyond considerations of caste, family-dominance, appeasement, vote-bank and main streaming the politics of performance in the country,” it added.
On food habits, however, the BJP Nagaland argued that the North East is exempted from any forms of restriction. Meanwhile, the Party will commence its second phase of Booth-level training meeting from January 12 to 19 covering Mon, Kohima, Phek, Wokha and Zunheboto districts.
