Dimapur, December 17 (MExN): The BJP Minority Morcha, Nagaland State has strongly condemned the December 14 attack on Christians in Satna, Madhya Pradesh by right wing Hindu groups.
The BJP Minority Cell in a press release stated that it is “very unfortunate” that some fanatics are trying to stop prayers of Christian minority by accusing them of forceful conversation “which is baseless”.
The priests and seminarians of St. Ephrem's Theological College numbering around 30 were out singing carols when they were attacked while a vehicle belonging to the priests was set ablaze.
Stating that the Catholic Christian Community are peace loving people who have been serving people irrespective of religion, caste or creed, the BJP Minority Morcha reasoned that the community has contributed a lot for the welfare of the country especially in Education and Health Sector.
“They are the best example of serving humanity without any benefit,” it said.
The BJP Minority further sought to assure the Christian community that it was closely monitoring the situation and added that it will do whatever possible from its side to stop atrocities against minorities in the country.
Issuing a call against disrupting the peaceful environment in the country, the Minority Morcha warned that anti socials elements will face consequences.
In this regard, the Nagaland BJP Minority Morcha requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh to give security to minorities.
