The BJP Nagaland State unit delegation which is in Bangalore to campaign for the Karnataka legislative assembly election.
Dimapur, May 4 (MExN): A delegation of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Nagaland State unit reached Bangalore on May 3 and will remain there till May 8 to campaign for the Karnataka legislative assembly election.
The delegation is led by party leader and Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton, accompanied by Ministers S Pangnyu Phom, Temjen Imna Along, and BJP Secretary Organising Ananta Mishra.
On May 4, the delegation met party National General Secretary, Muralidhar Rao in the State BJP office, Bangalore and deliberated on strategies to reach out to the North East people in general and the Nagaland citizens in particular, said a press release from BJP Nagaland Media Cell.
There are about seven lakhs population of NE people and more than 8,000 registered people from Nagaland State alone in Karnataka, it was informed.
The release further mentioned that on May 6, there will be a North East Samavesha at 4:00 pm at Palace Ground, Gate No. 1, Bangalore. Chief Ministers of the North East States and other Ministers will attend the event. National BJP President Amit Shah will be the main speaker.
In this connection, Y Patton has appealed to all the well wishers and the citizens of Nagaland State to participate in the event.
It was informed that the State BJP General Secretary Jaangsillung and former State President Dr M Chuba Ao are already in Bangalore and have been meeting various student leaders from Nagaland and people from North East residing in Bangalore.
