Wokha, April 7 (MExN): The old Riphyim village council hosted a thanksgiving programme in honour of Y Patton, Deputy Chief Minister of Nagaland and Minister in charge for Home and National Highways at Old Riphyim Tourist Complex on April 7.
A press note received here stated that Patton in his speech called upon the people not to have any misconception over BJP on religious issue. “Like any other party, BJP is also a secular political party and it has nothing to do with anti-religious activities,” he stated. “Should there be any anti-Christian atrocities committed by the BJP functionaries, particularly in Northeast India, we the BJP Legislatures are there to protest and protect the interest of the Christian minorities,” the DCM declared. It is only a political party that is willing to bring a positive change, progress and development for the people, he stated.
Ntsemo Ngullie, Chairman of Nagaland Beekeeping and Honey Mission, Rev. Yankey Patton, former State Chaplin, LSU President Libemo Tsopoe and others spoke on the occasion. Rev. Yankey Patton dedicated a monolith erected in honour of Y Patton, Dy. Chief Minister of Nagaland by the Riphyim village council.
The programme was organised by the village council and church community in acknowledgement of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDA). The Riphyim village community on behalf of the people of 37 Tyui A/C and the Lotha placed on record its gratitude to all concerned functionaries for reposing their faith on Y Patton.
