
Dimapur, August 23 (MExN): When other parts of the country are growing and moving towards a New India, Nagaland cannot afford to remain in stagnant position, stated a top BJP functionary currently on a Mandal level tour in the state. Ananta Narayan Mishra, the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Organizing Secretary incharge of Nagaland said this during his current tours of Mandals in Zunheboto and Phek districts. Proceedings of tours as released by various BJP units from the concerned areas informed that in every Mandal, Mishra vetted the idea contrasting it with the sorry state of affairs Nagaland is currently undergoing and projecting the BJP as the next best alternative to usher in development Besides, he re-affirmed the secular credential of BJP saying it not an “anti Christian” party and has nothing to do with religious matter. Mishra emphasized on strong and effective composition of the organizational matters, as well as result orientation and to facilitate formation of the party government in the coming state assembly election. “The present NPF government has totally failed the people's expectation. It's the government of corruption only,” asserted the Organizing Secretary at a meeting in Zunheboto. “Corruption has exceeded more than 100%, backdoor appointments are not a new thing, road conditions are horrible, worst in India,” he said expressing his bemusement “to find Nagaland to be the most corrupt and backward state in India.” In this regard, he claimed that if BJP comes to power in 2018 election, Nagaland would witness, among others, better road connectivity, Rajdhani service from Dimapur to Kohima and Mariani to Mokokchung, best Hospital, and better and new educational institution. “BJP is the only party that can assure development because Narendra Modi led government at the centre is for development and development for all,” he maintained. The BJP State Executive Member Dr. V Thingo in one of its meetings in Phek also dismissed the rumors that the party is planning to turn “Christians into Hindu by 2020.” “This is completely false. But the party is building‘New India’ by 2022 at the 75th Anniversary of India’s independence… Special focus of development will be given to Nagaland,” he claimed. According to the press releases from respective units, Mishra visited six Mandals in Zunheboto District - Akuluto, Atoizu, Zunheboto, Satakha, Suruhuto and Aghunato from August 16-18. In Phek, he visited Chozuba and Pfutsero on August 21 and Chizami on August 22. Meanwhile, the BJP Chizami informed that it has resolved to support Kevechutso Doulo as the candidate of 17th Chizami Assembly Constituency in the next general election 2018.
