Book on historical events in the Naga political struggle released

Zunheboto, January 9 (MExN): A book titled “Crossroad: Concise Historical Events in the Naga Political Struggle’ written by Dr Hokishe Yeputhomi, Advisor Nagaland Tribal Council and former President Sumi Hoho was released on Sunday by President of Sumi Hoho Nikheto Zhimomi at Sumi Baptist Church Zunheboto.

Stating that the book is one of a kind, Nikheto Zhimomi said that it would be of great assistance to history scholars and writers since it encompasses several important subjects. He assured that the Sumi people and the Nagas in general would preserve the book for posterity. While congratulating the author, he posed a challenge to the young educated generation stating that if an eighty seven year old man could write a book why not them. He further encouraged the younger generation that the success of this octogenarian should be an eye opener for them.

The author of the book Dr Hokishe Yeputhomi disclosed that it took him more than two year to write this book, adding that he was engrossed with writing this book throughout the whole pandemic. The book is an ultra-compact documental volume which covers almost the entire Naga historical events and agreements that transpired from 12th century AD to the present context, he said. Yeputhomi further stated that although written in brief, this book could aid the researchers and scholars alike. They could easily extract their needs in one go without letting them flip through numerous of books, he added.

On the occasion, Vihoto Awomi, Secretary Mission and Evangelism SBAK Nito Mount pronounced the book dedication prayer. Meanwhile, Dr Hokishe Yeputhomi expressed gratitude to Dr Hutton Sümi, Pastor Sumi Baptist Church, Zunheboto for giving him the opportunity to release the book in the church and also thanked Nikheto Zhimomi, President, Sumi Hoho,  all the Apex Sümi frontal organisations, the invitees and the congregation who had witnessed and graced the event of his book release.
