Dimapur, November 18 (MExN): Dimapur police have identified the victim who was brutally murdered recently and whose dead body was found near Old Dhansiri bridge, Dimapur, which was cut (butchered) into 7 (seven) different pieces and kept in two different bags on November 6. The victim has been identified as Saidul Ali (20 yrs) S/o Munti Ali, Village- Totarkuchi, PS- Rangia, District- Kamrup (Assam). Three persons involved in butchering the victim and snatching away his Maruti Car -800 B/R. No. AS14A-2203 has also been arrested and one is absconding, informed Dimapur SP in a press note.
The arrested three accused persons are Amsher Ali S/o Md. Fazl Ali, Village- Bhapera, PO/PS- Goreshwar, District- Buxa (Assam); Md. Babul Ali S/o Md. Mabu Ali, Village- Gogmalasa, PS/PO- Rangia, District Kamrup (Assam) and Hitesh Das S/o Torun Das, Village- Kumyuri, PO/PS- Barpetta Road, District- Barpetta (Assam). The SP disclosed that the fourth absconding accused was a Manipuri Doctor. Arrest has been made with joint effort of Dimapur DEF and Rangia Police, Kamrup (Assam). The arrested persons are now in the custody of Assam police. Accused Amsher Ali is a neighbor of the victim and a vehicle lifter, it was informed.
SP Dimapur disclosed that the victim along with his Maruti Car -800 was brought to Dimapur from Guwahati by the four accused on November 5 on the pretext of hiring it. On November 6 they reached Dimapur and the four accused disposed (sold off) the Maruti Car -800 to two local persons at Dimapur at Rs 40000 /- on the same morning without the knowledge of the driver (victim). After that they left for Mayur Hotel, G.S. Road Dimapur and booked at Room No-112. They offered liquor to the victim mixed with some poisons and when he became intoxicated they chopped off his body into 7 (seven) pieces at the bath room and put those seven pieces into two different bags and later disposed the two bags at Old Dhansiri bridge i.e. on November 6 at around 5:10 PM in a hired auto-rickshaw. Police is making efforts to recover the vehicle and arrest the other absconding co-accused persons, the SP informed.
