DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 10 (MExN): The Bible Society of India (BSI) Dimapur town branch organized a seminar with Pastors of Dimapur town Churches on October 8. 

Nini Sekhose, Treasurer of the branch welcomed pastors. She claimed that Christians are becoming a minority in Dimapur city, stating that this is a big challenge for Bible Society and Churches. Rev Dr N Paphino, President, BSI Dimapur auxiliary shared the importance of the participation of Churches in the ministry of BSI. It is a non-denominational and non-profitable organization, he stated, adding that BSI spends Rs 500 to print a Bible and sells it to Churches at Rs 230. This is possible with the contribution of the Churches and individuals.

Rev Dr Yiepetso Wezah, Auxiliary Secretary shared on the significance of the ministry of Bible Society. He shared that BSI is engaged in translation, production and distribution of “God’s Word.” According to Government of India’s data, there are 1,652 languages spoken in India. Out of which BSI has brought out only 74 full Bibles, additional 92 New Testament and 81 languages are in the process of translations. He said that the “Word of God” can be heard by every nation and tribe with the support of the Churches. During interaction, Pastors commented that all the Churches should participate in the ministry of BSI.

Zakie Terhuja, President, BSI Dimapur town branch moderated the session and Tali Meren, Secretary proposed the vote of thanks. The seminar concluded with a mass spoken prayer. The BSI Dimapur auxiliary, in a press release, thanked the Dimapur town branch for organizing the seminar.
