Dimapur, January 2 (MExN): The 45th annual session of Baimho Students’ Union (BSU) was held at Baimho Village from December 28 to 30. The three-day session was graced by Andrew Ahoto, Chairman cum Principal of Livingstone Foundation Hr. Sec. School, Dimapur, as the chief guest. Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest highlighted the importance of a community or village to remain united to usher in development of the region instead of indulging in money based and cheap vote-bank politics. He urged upon the gathering to choose a candidate on the basis of his merit so that he would work for the benefit of the people and bring development. Speaking on the sidelines of skill-management, Ahoto remarked that a Nation or society without skill will ultimately kill the nation or society itself. He was of the view that education should not only be knowledge based but should also be skill based so that every individual gets his fair opportunity of contributing in the development of one’s community. A press release stated that the inaugural programme was led by Ato M. Chophy, Vice-President of BSU while the invocation prayer was said by Ikatoli, Women Co-Ordinator. The welcome speech was presented by Pukaho N. Kiba, President of BSU. The ‘Leshe’ Recitation was done by Livino Chophy and vote of thanks was proposed by Inaka A. Achumi, Games & Sports Secretary of BSU. After the inaugural programme, an exhibition volleyball match was played between Baimho Sports Association and Baimho Students’ Union. It is worth mentioning here that Baimho Village has two separate village administrative units viz. the Lashosha or Upper Baimho whose Head G.B is Ato Yepthomi. The other is the Lower Baimho or Chilsa which is administered by Vikato Yepthomi as the Head GB and Hotokhu Chophy and Ghutovi Achu as the GB’s.
