Bulk Milk Cooling Centre at Chuchuyimlang

Kohima, October 29 (MExN): With a view to create cold chain maintenance and marketing avenue for the rural milk producers, a 500 litres capacity Bulk Milk Cooling Unit (BCMU) was set up at Chuchuyimlang under a Centrally sponsored scheme of Integrated Dairy Development Project, Government of India at the cost of Rs. 15 lakh.

It was commissioned by M. Yanthan, IAS, Secretary to the Government of Nagaland, Department of Veterinary & Animal Husbandry on October 16 last.

In his address, Yanthan stated that the BCMU was established for the dairy farmers of the area and called upon the villagers to cooperate to make full use of it for their own benefit.

The programme was chaired by Dr. Temsumeren, General Manager, Mokokchung Milk Union while Dr. A. Yhokha, Project Director, NSDCF Ltd. Highlighted the dairy developmental activities.
