DIMAPUR, APRIL 16 (MExN): In a sophisticated robbery, expensive watches worth lakhs of rupees were stolen from ‘World of Titan’, the trendy watch store located at Nyamo Lotha Road, Dimapur. The break-in was discovered in the morning, Tuesday, April 16.
The thieves selectively stole several high-end watches, leaving behind low-end models. The value of the stolen items was estimated at more than Rs. 20 lakhs. The locks securing the roller shutter were found disengaged; while, CCTV cameras installed in the store were also found disconnected from the power source. It was learned, however, that the CCTV cameras were put to work only during business hours and not after the shop closed following the day’s business.
Policemen, who checked the crime scene, went about looking for clues that may have been left behind by the perpetrators. Police later informed that some finger-prints were lifted from the scene for analysis.
