Dimapur, February 26 (MExN): A one-day faculty and staff development programme was held at C-Edge College on February 26 which was organized by the IQAC and sponsored by Kiremwati Chair.
The first session chaired by Nokchachila, Assistant Professor of Sociology Department, was held with the teaching faculty and staff. It started with invocation by Kaikho Loli, Assistant Professor of History Department and welcome address by Dr Chubatola Aier, Principal of the College.
The main speaker of the first session, Rev Bendang Longkumer of Kingdom Discipleship Ministry, New Delhi led the participants in a time of devotion and reflection on the Word of God. He reinforced the mission to emulate and reflect Christ in the workspace.
In her concluding remarks, Viseno Kuotsu, HoD of Political Science mentioned that Rev Longkumer's session served as a reminder that even as we seek, develop and enhance our capabilities, we need to start with our relationship with God.
Taking guidance from the fruits of the Spirit, as educators, we can pursue a better work and classroom environment as well.
The second session was divided into two groups and conducted on different themes. The teaching faculty had a technical session on the theme ‘Education in Transition: Rethinking Offline and Blended Mode of Teaching and Learning’.
Keeping in mind the pandemic and its impact on education, the programme was held to enhance faculty performance in the teaching-learning process. Some of the objectives of programme included open and interactive discussion on issues and opportunities related to post-COVID 19 on teaching and learning and to integrate approaches for blended mode of education.
Different departments presented on the theme. Advantages and disadvantages of online teaching and learning were examined through the presentations based on Blended Teaching-Learning as the way forward in a post-COVID-19 narrative. Several resolutions were also made after the discussion session to augment blended mode of teaching and learning.
Simultaneously, the staff members had their technical session on the theme ‘Office Management and Work Ethics’ with Akangjungla, Director of News and Administration, The Morung Express as the resource person.
She stressed the importance of work as it allows one to be self-reliant, entitles one to an honest earning, which is an essential aspect of a person’s identity and most significantly attributes to happiness in life. She also mentioned that besides perusing for professionalism, some of the guiding principles should be integrity, respect, not shying away from taking responsibility for their action, dedication etc.
She concluded that the most crucial is to remain human first and to be kind and take care of each other.
All these things were taught through various activities and open interaction.
The session concluded with benediction by Mohan Rana, Office Assistant of the College.
