Dimapur, February 19 (MExN): With the State Assembly Elections a fortnight away, security-related concern was expressed during an hour-long Ceasefire meeting today. The meeting with the NSCN-IM was held at the VIP guest house at Kohima, sources informed. Reliable sources quoted Inspector General of Assam Rifles KS Sethi as saying that most stringent measures would be put into place taking into account the ‘time-proximity’ to the date of polling. Also, coming into effect from tomorrow, the Assam Rifles was ordered to take ‘necessary action’ to ‘safeguard peace.’ The Nagaland DGP and Home Commissioner are also said to have expressed anxiety over the ‘law and order situation.’ Also, the seven-member NSCN-IM delegation led by “brigadier” Pungthing Shimrang reportedly questioned the IGAR why no action has been initiated so far against the NSCN Unification group.
