C4C Summer Challenger cup from July 23

Medziphema, July 21 (MExN): An initiative of ‘Catalysts for Change’ (C4C), the Summer Challenger Cup 2018 is all set to begin from July 23 till August 3 at Local Ground, Medziphema.  

Altogether, 25 teams will be participating in the said tourney, with teams from as far as Kohima, Dimapur and neighbouring villages. The Chief Patron of the tournament, Zhaleo Rio, Deputy Speaker, NLA will declare the tournament open at the inaugural function scheduled for 2:00 PM.  

The winner of the tournament will drive home richer with a cash prize of Rs. 50,000 sponsored by Rokolhou Angami, Class-I contractor, and the runners up will receive an amount of Rs. 30,000 sponsored by Megozelhou Kuotsu, Businessman and Entrepreneur. The individual prizes for Best Player, Highest Scorer and Best Goalkeeper is sponsored by Er. Rokovito Meyase Iralu, SDO Electrical Transmission, Dimapur. The tournament will be in knockout format while state Referees will conduct the tournament.  

Catalysts for Change (C4C), a social concern group, is comprised of young like-minded individuals from different fields of profession, having multiple interests in Sports, Music, Culture, Academics, Social works and others. An 18 member strong team, C4C aspires to be agents/mediators of change in whatever small way possible. The tournament being its maiden venture as a group, it intends to organize more events, programs and activities in the near future for good causes where people can come together to have good times, and also create and spread awareness on certain subjects/areas/issues.  

In the inaugural ceremony, Kevisese Krose will compere while Rev. Zhabu Terhüja, Pastor, BCAMT, will invoke God's blessing followed by Presidential address from Megosolie Dolie, President, C4C and a special number to be rendered by Keneiseno Terhüja. The Patron of the tournament, Zhaleo Rio, shall exhort the gathering and after which, Atubu R. Kuotsu, Convenor, Organising Committee, will share concluding remarks. The oath taking will be supervised by Avikho Chüpho, Sports Secretary, C4C.
