They're both experts in their musical fields and regularly dominate the charts. But fans shouldn't expect to see a collaboration between Calvin Harris and girlfriend Taylor Swift anytime soon as The Sun claims the DJ has 'politely declined' the opportunity to work with the Style singer. It's believed the 32-year-old far too smitten with Taylor to take the risk, especially after his previous team-up with ex-girlfriend Rita Ora ended in disaster. 'Calvin's next single is ready but the label is keen for him to get a big female US star to collaborate on it,' a source told the publication. 'They floated the idea of him working with Taylor but he politely declined it. Calvin has seen how sour things can turn when working with someone he's dating.' But there is one lady who Calvin has reportedly set his sights on, as it's claimed the How Deep Is Your Love hit-maker would leap at the chance of working with Beyonce.
'Instead he is in talks with Beyonce as he's always wanted the pair to work together. She is a big fan. She loved her feature on Naughty Boy's dance single Runnin' (Lose It All) last year,' the insider added. Calvin appears to have learned from his mistakes as the mega-producer previously collaborated with ex-girlfriend Rita on her last album before their sour split. The music wound up being proof that their break-up was far from amicable as Calvis stopped Harris using tracks he had helped create for the album. The Scottish heartthrob even withdrew permission for the singer to perform her single I Will Never Let You Down at the MTV Movie Awards the following Summer.
Meanwhile, Rita, 25, recently hinted that her upcoming album features tracks inspired by her break-up from Calvin - with heartbreak records coincidentally being his current girlfriend Taylor's specialty. Speaking about their split to Wonderland magazine in November last year, Rita said: ‘At the time… I just wanted to crawl in my bed and die. But I got out of it the other side, I’m surviving.’
