Campaign for ethical voting in Kiphire

Kiphire: An orientation programme on Systematic Voters’ Education Electoral Participation (SVEEP) was organized by the district administration today at Zisaji Presidency College in collaboration with YouthNet. Students of ZPC and LHSS attended the programme.

Speaking at the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Kiphire Nepose Theluo expressed gratitude to YouthNet for conducting the programme, which is timely and most important to educate people. Describing the programme as informative, inspiring and impressive, the DC said that such programme would help people to learn the importance of electoral system and let people to reason not to do business during election but ethically elect the leader. The DC also asked the gathering to maintain Christian ethics in all aspects even during election and do away with proxy voting. He said that ‘one’s vote is one’s future’ and called upon the gathering to exercise ones franchise oneself and not by others as it is one’s birthright. Disclosing Zisaji Presidency polling station as model polling station the DC said CCTV would be installed in this polling station.

Lezo Putsure from YouthNet asked the gathering to vote ethically and said, “If you are not enrolled in the electoral roll and if you do not vote you have no right to complain.” Kuovizo Belho and Ruokuokhrienuo Vizota from YouthNet gave power point presentation where they emphasize on clean election and asked the gathering to exercise ones franchise ethically. Dr Tinojungshi Chang SDO (c) while giving welcome address also disclose that more than 3000 voters has been detected with double entries and more than 1000 have been deleted.
