CAN Youth launches life skill project for govt schools

Dimapur, June 18 (MExN): CAN Youth launched its Project SPATIAL (Students, Parents and Teachers Involvement in Authentic Learning), a life skill programme for government schools, supported by Godrej Salon-I, at Government High School Dhansiripar on June 17.  

Jenpu Rongmei, Chief Functionary, CAN Youth in his keynote address highlighted the journey of CAN Youth. He also shared the aims and objectives of Project SPATIAL, which will focus on smart education rather than quality education. He expressed the need for life skill in government schools to enable the students to build their competency through in depth understanding of self for better career and positive life, according to a press release from Zhove Lohe, Secretary, CAN Youth.  

Sedemmongla, Head, Government High School Dhansiripar expressed gratitude to CAN Youth for choosing the school to conduct life skill programme for six months duration. Life skill, she said, will greatly benefit the students as well as the teachers in understanding life and building strong relations between students and teachers. She opined that the curriculum of schools also need to focus on discovering self through life skill. Sedemmongla further urged CAN Youth to help and encourage students through life skill.  

Meanwhile, special guest of the event, Kumar Naben, Joint Secretary, Government of Nagaland expressed pride for studying in Govt. High School Dhansiripar during his school days. He was glad that the 50 years anniversary of the school, which will be celebrated this year, coincides with the launching of the life skill project of CAN Youth.  

He also encouraged the students to participate in all the activities and cooperate with the facilitator to mold them by professionals. Kumar further urged the Head of the school and CAN Youth to help advance in the field of smart education through the life skill project. Meanwhile, he assured the students and CAN Youth team to extend support towards the project in every possible way.
