DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 11 (MExN): The Nagaland Indigenous People’s Forum (NIPF) has written to the Nagaland State Chief Secretary asking for cancellation of appointment of one KM Geevarghase, retd PPS to Home Minister as OSD on fixed pay from July 1, 2017 to March 31, 2018.
A letter from ST Yapang and Odi Jamir, members of the NIPF governing body, informed that as per RTI reply letter No SAB (A)-1/5/2017 dated 22-08-2017, the Home Department Secretariat Administration Branch (A) has revealed that “there is an acute shortage of stenographer in senior level,” as a result of which the appointment was made after “completion of all the formalities such as clearance of P&AR Department.”
The NIPF however stated that there are more than 70,000 educated unemployed in the State of Nagaland as per 2016 Employment Exchange Live Register. “Moreover, there are hundreds of well conversant stenographers in the State of Nagaland both employed and unemployed. The appointment of retired employed is an unhealthy practice and unfair,” the NIPF viewed.
It therefore asked the Chief Secretary to immediately cancel the appointment order and to advertise the post and fill it up “in accordance with constitutional scheme of employment.”
