Jerseys of participating teams officially launched

  Morung Express News Dimapur | September 13 The second season of the Case Premier League is set to get underway with the league holding its official jersey launching programme at Tetso College, Dimapur on Wednesday. The unregistered football league for non professionals above 30 years will kick off on September 16.   Speaking during the launch of the jerseys on Wednesday, Rovikotuo Yhoshu, Convenor of the Case Premier League, informed that there were six participating teams in the second edition viz., – Trinity FC, Case FC, Nizams FC, STAFAC Patkai, G. Sporting Club, and A1 Powerplay.   Viketho Kechu, member of the Organising Committee, informed that the opening ceremony of the tournament would be held on Saturday, September 16 at 12:30 pm at the Police Ground with Parliamentary Secretary Tovihoto Ayemi gracing the inaugural as chief guest. Matches for the tournament would also be held at the Police Ground, Chumukedima, he added.   Nchum Ovung, member of the Organising Committee, briefed on the guidelines of the league and stated that the league is for non-professionals players above 30 years of age.   Interestingly though, the league allows for two under-30 players from each team to be part of a matchday squad but even these players have to be above the age of 25.   The inaugural edition of the Case Premier League was held earlier this year from February to April under the theme “Beyond Friendship, Beyond Fitness and Beyond Football”.
