Trinity, who lead the league with 9 points having won all three of their matches, lost to Nizams FC 2-1 while STAFAC defeated Case FC 2-0. Nizams had a flurry of chances early on with strikers Pito and Aloto failing to capitalize from one-on-one situations. The deadlock was broken in the 22nd minute when Sopei caught the Trinity goalkeeper off-guard scoring from a free-kick from near the centre. Theyo then doubled the lead 14 minutes into the second half. An undeterred Trinity fought back as Lipok Jamir cut the lead 10 minutes later slotting home with his left foot from close range. Trinity pushed for an equalizer till the end of the 80-minute match but Nizams held on to earn three precious points. Earlier in the first match, Case FC were dealt their third successive defeat by STAFAC. The first half had ended goalless in the contest between two evenly matched teams. But in the second half, STAFAC found the net twice through Ruuleto Vakha (54th minute) and Inito Chishi (60th). Vakha’s goal had a touch of fortune after his initial effort got past the goalkeeper’s glove and hit the bar. As luck would have it, the rebound hit the Case FC goalkeeper in the back of the head before bouncing into the net. With two wins and a draw, Nizams are second in the table with 7 points and is now the only unbeaten team in the league while STAFAC are on 5 points from 4 games.
