Participants of the two-day program for catechists and leaders of various teams.

Kiphire, November 3 (MExN): A two-day program for catechists and leaders of various teams took place at St. Peter’s Parish, Kiphire (SPPK), bringing together more than fifty participants from nine different churches. The gathering featured representatives including team leaders from the Catholic Women’s Association, Catholic youth, catechism teachers, unit leaders, and the church council.
Rev. Fr. Thomas Toretkiu served as the resource person for the leadership training, where he emphasized the theme “The Secret Leadership of Jesus.” His discussions centered on the qualities that define effective leadership, particularly in the context of modern challenges posed by artificial intelligence and technology. Fr. Toretkiu encouraged participants to familiarize themselves with Catholic social teachings to maintain clarity in their roles as good Christians.
The program concluded with a Holy Eucharist on Sunday, November 3, led by Rev. Fr. Johnson V.U., with the assistance of Rev. Fr. Philip Magh, Fr. Marius Patton, and Fr. Toretkiu. In his homily, Fr. Johnson praised the catechists for their vital contributions to the spiritual growth of the community, stating, “Catechists are the backbone of the Church’s spiritual paths.” He urged leaders to remain grounded in prayer and called on the community to offer support in their collaborative efforts.
The event was organized and hosted by Fr. Philip Magh and his team, who welcomed attendees and arranged a brief felicitation ceremony where catechists received gifts as tokens of appreciation. The day concluded with a shared meal.
