The Catholic community of Cathedral Kohima under the aegis of St. Mary’s Cathedral Parish today conducted Palm Sunday procession with Rt. Rev. James Thoppil, Bishop of Kohima as the main celebrant. The procession started from Police Headquarters (PHQ) Kohima and culminated at the Cathedral Church.
The Catholic Churches conduct Palm Sunday procession to mark the solemn entry of Jesus into Jerusalem, worldwide.The Holy week programme which starts today will go on till March 31.
Chrism Mass has been scheduled for March 26 with Rt. Rev. James Thoppil, Bishop of Kohima as the main celebrant. Maundy Thursday will take place on March 28 with Rev. Fr. Johny as the main celebrant. Rt. Rev. James Thoppil, Bishop of Kohima will also be the main celebrant of Good Friday programme on March 29, starting from 1:00 pm.
Easter Vigil will take place on March 30 with Rev. Fr. John S. Kavas as the main celebrant. The main celebrant for Easter Sunday programme on March 31 will be Rt. Rev. James Thoppil, Bishop of Kohima, according to programme scheduled received here.
