Dimapur, January 14 (MExN): The “People’s Army of Nagaland, GPRN, NSCN” today issued a strongly-worded warning that ‘non-cooperation and non-participation’ by any section would “bring woes and destruction upon the Nagas or their own tribe…” The outfit warned that “none should be blamed” for this fallout.
A press statement from “brig” Niki Sumi observed “the prevailing silence of some Naga intellectuals, social leaders, civil societies and some Naga tribes” over the issue of “Naga unification.” The statement declared that those not in favor of the “unification” should clearly proclaim that ‘any bloody fallout would be accountable to such antagonist to peace and Naga unification…”
“If non-cooperation and non-participation of such section should jeopardize Naga unification and thus consequently bring woes and destruction upon the Nagas or their own tribe, sole responsibility would be borne by them and none should be blamed” it stated. Directing its cadres to be on “highest alert” the statement even asserted that “it would be obligatory on our part to use any means available at our disposal to counteract subversive factors trying to break our patience…”
Claiming that such endeavors would “bear fruits” the statement acknowledged the sacrifices of various civil bodies, tribal organizations, church workers and intellectuals to bring about “unification.”
