KLBC celebrates Fathers’ Day
Dimapur, June 19 (DIPR): Along with the rest of the world, the Kohima Lotha Baptist Church (KLBC) also celebrated Fathers’ Day on June 19, 2011 at the main church with Associate Pastor Rev.A.Khyolamo Jami, as the theme speaker.
Speaking on the theme, “The unique place of a father in the family” the speaker challenged the many fathers present on whether they were occupying the unique place which God has assigned to them. Quoting from the word of God, he said that fathers ought to represent our Heavenly Father and live up to His likeness by taking forward their family in the right direction. Referring from the Bible, he further dwelt on the role of a father to pray for his family, to teach and guide them in the right path and to be a provider for their physical/material and spiritual needs. ‘To represent our Heavenly Father is not an easy task, yet if we have close ties with God, He would help us,’ Jami exhorted. On the occasion of Fathers Day he also reminded all the fathers not to misunderstand the concept of being the head of the family by over-exercising it, but asked them to occupy the unique place by being a loving father and a guide to his wife and children, to take the right decisions, to fear God, to be truthful and to carry forward the responsibilities assigned to him by God, in the right earnest.
During the Fathers Day celebration, a young father who had attended the recently concluded Fathers Camp organized by KLBC, while sharing his experience said that he has learnt immensely by attending the camp. Through the father’s camp, he said that he has learnt that fathers as head of the family should not be misconstrued, but they should take the initiative to carry forward the father’s role by setting good examples. Further, he said that he has realized that the best gift that a father can give as a gift to his children is to love their mother. “When a father has close relationship with God and nurtures his family in the right direction, God’s blessings could be felt and seen” he added.
Marking the day, Pastor KLBC, Rev.Mhathung invoked God’s blessings upon all the fathers while Ex.Pastor A.Mathew Khuvung said the invocation. KLBC choir enthralled the congregation by presenting a special song in honour of the fathers. Associate Pastor, K.Benry Lotha led the congregation during the Fathers day celebration programme.
