Kohima, September 25 (MExN): The Chakhesang Baptist Church Ministers’ Hill (CBCMH), Kohima conducted ‘Revival on wheels at Old MLA hostel Junction in Kohima on September 24.

While following the guidelines laid down by the government and medical experts, the church also felt the need to do its part, Senior pastor at CBCMH, Kohima Rev Dr Vevo Phesao said.

The revival programme was conducted with the intention to reassure the citizens of Kohima that God has not forsaken them, and that people do not have to panic about the pandemic, the senior pastor said. “People need to hear the voice of the church leaders to re-assure citizens that all is not lost yet,” he added.

Phesao, who is also the former president of Kohima Baptist Pastor Fellowship, added that he felt the need to pray for the government of the day, frontline workers, medical experts, news fraternity etc.

“We also need a great wave of revival,” he said.

Phesao shared the need for societal transformation which will come through prayers, through conducting worship services, and preaching the word of God to people who are in need of spiritual strength.

So far, the church has conducted the outdoor worship services at various colonies and different pockets of Kohima including PWD, Para-medical, Old and New Ministers’ Hill.

On Thursday, the services were held in three locations including Old MLA hostel junction, PHQ Junction, and New Minister’s Hill near Cathedral.

‘Revival on wheels’ was started some time ago and it will continue to go on from time to time, he added.

According to Phesao, the outdoor worship services were making a “very positive impact.”

He shared the messages received from different people saying that ‘this is the need of the hour’. During the programmes, they have also had various families including non-Nagas coming forward to receive the message of God, Phesao said.

While the doors of the churches are open to people who wants to come, we must also do our best to maintain SOPs and take all kinds of preventive measures in the churches as well, he added.

Phesao thanked the district administration, municipal council, traffic police, and citizens for allowing them to conduct the service smoothly.

The devotional service was conducted with strict adherence to safety measures like observing social distancing and wearing of mask. The entire service was also streamed live on the CBCMH’s social media handles.
