DIMAPUR, JULY 24 (MExN): The Confederation of Chang Students’ Union (CCSU) today stated several schools in its area were found to be in deplorable condition after it conducted an educational tour covering 48 villages and 65 schools. A press note from the CCSU President, Chingmak Kumchuba and General Secretary, C Pongsu informed that the educational tour was conducted in two phases from May 1 to 4 and from June 19 to 21.
Many schools were found in a deplorable condition due to shortage of Headmasters, Assistant Headmasters, Subject Teachers and General Teachers.
The CCSU informed that GHS Ngoungchung, GHS Yangpi, GHS Konya and GHS Chingmei required a headmaster and assistant headmaster. GMS Helipong “A”, GPS Helipong “B” (2 Nos), GMS Chingmei (2 Nos), GMS Chendang, GPS Konya, GMS Haak, GMS Longdang (2 nos), GMS Nakshou and GPS Buthanbou were found to be lacking general teachers.
The CCSU added that GPS Maksha, GPS Keshai, GMS Sangsangyo, GMS Longra, GMS Ngangpong lacked Hindi teachers. Meanwhile it was also detected that subject teachers were required at GMS Sedam (Maths), GHS Hakchang (English), GHS Yangpi (Maths, English, Science), and GHS Chingmei (Maths, Science, English).
During the visit, the CCSU also detected many teachers who were absent from their assigned duties. As per the notification on 'No Work No Pay' passed by the department concerned, the confederation informed that it deducted the salary as per the notification with the concerned of DEO, SDEO and Deputy Commissioner.
The confederation meanwhile asked all teachers to be sincere and diligently perform their assigned duties, while warning that the CCSU would take action if the teachers were found to be absent.
The CCSU also appealed to the concerned department to detach all the teachers who are attached to Ministers and to also look into the school buildings which are lying in a dilapidated condition
