CCSU launches mission for qualitative education

Tuensang, April 26 (MExN): The Confederation of Chang Students’ Union (CCSU) launched Mission Wesen with the motto ‘Child Progressive Assessment’ on April 25 at CBLT Resource Centre, Tuensang.  

The mission was primarily launched for 12 Government Primary Schools (pilot project) under Chang jurisdiction with a vision to produce qualitative education “because many rural students within Chang jurisdiction from our educational survey, shows that reading simple sentences or solving basic arithmetic still remains a challenge,” stated a press release from CCSU president, Chingmak Kumchuba and general secretary, C Pongsu.  

The Education Board of CCSU will set the syllabus for the academic year and will conduct exams for Class 1 to 3, it added. An orientation programme was held on April 24, where different resource persons spoke on roles of Village Education Committee, village councils, PTA representatives, church leaders, students’ unions and teacher in-charge in the mission.  

The launching programme was attended by L Jamithung Lotha, Deputy Commissioner, Tuensang as special guest. Sanchisao Lotha, Assistant DEO, Tuensang also spoke on the importance of the involvement of students’ body in bringing about change in the education field.  

The CCSU has appealed to all the citizens to support the mission so as to achieve its core purpose.
