DIMAPUR, JUNE 12 (MExN): Eight days after the abduction of Child Development Officer of Mangkolemba sub-division, T Sashi, Hojai police have made some arrests. However, there has been no major lead in the investigation as yet. According to reliable inputs some suspects were “picked up mostly for interrogation”. The actual number of persons detained or their connection in the case could not be known.
CDPO Sashi, it is learned is still alive but the condition of his health is deteriorating. The confirmation was made Friday last when the abductors let him speak to his relatives. The sources disclosed that the driver who also went missing along with the CDPO is “most likely with the CDPO”.
It was learned that the Muslim Council Dimapur is gradually mustering influential support from the local people and civil societies of Hojai for the early end to the investigation and safe return of the CDPO and his driver.
