CEO interact with security forces on NERP

Kohima, April 8 (DIPR): Chief Electoral Officer Nagaland, Sanjay Kumar has a meeting with the HODs of the Security forces at Hotel Japfu on April 6 on the ongoing issue pertaining to the National Electoral Roll Purification (NERP) 2016. In his address Kumar said it is important for the officers and the Jawans to exercise their right to vote according to the Constitution of India but at the same time call on not to misuse the right to vote by registering their names at multiple places. He requested the gathering to create a platform for educating the importance of the right to vote. During the interaction hour, various speakers shared their problem about security personnel being transferred and posted within a short span. In this regard Kumar informed them to contact the Election department and report the matter to the DEO or Assistant Election Officer for inclusion of their names in the electoral roll and also asked the Election department to incorporate the changes without delay. The meeting was attended by representatives from the Director General of Police; Commandant, 15 IR Mahila Battalion; IG, Assam Rifles, Nagaland; Commandant, SEWAK, Nagaland; Commandant, CRPF, Nagaland; Commandant, 164 Naga Territorial Army, Jakhama; Commandant, 155 BN, BSF, Chedema; Commandant General, Home Guards & Civil Defense; Director, Rajya Sainik Board, Nagaland and Group Commander, National Cadet Corps.
