Kohima, March 21 (MExN): The Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland has convened a meeting with the State level NGOs for Systematic Voters' Education & Electoral Participation (SVEEP) on April 1 at Hotel Japfu at 11:00 AM in connection with the Election Commission of India's recently declared National Electoral Roll Purification (NERP), 2016 programme.
The president of the following organisation and the NGos are requested to attend the meeting: Naga Hoho, Nagaland Baptist Churches Council, Catholic Association of Nagaland, Nagaland Christian Revival Churches Council, Pentecostal Church, Naga Mothers' Association, Naga Students' Federation, Eastern Naga People Organization, Eastern Naga Students' Federation, President, Eastern Naga Women Organization, Yanpfuo Kikon, Founder, The Naga Blog, Hekani, Youth Net, President, Naga Peoples' Movement for Human Rights.
Meanwhile, another meeting is convened on April 2 at the official residence of the Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland at 4:00 pm (followed by Dinner) in connection with the Election Commission of India's recently declared National Electoral Roll Purification (NERP), 2016 programme and the Systematic Voters' Education & Electoral Participation (SVEEP).
The following State Level Political parties and the NGOs are called for the meeting: President, Bharatya Janata Party; President, Indian National Congress; President, Nagaland Peoples' Front; President, Janata Dal (United); President, Nationalist Congress Party; President, Beauty & Aesthetics Society of Nagaland (BASN).
Sanjay Kumar IAS Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland in a press release informed that the NERP 2016 is an intensive drive which was launched on March 1 and is to be completed on or before August 31, 2016. The meeting shall deliberate on issues pertaining to this drive with the main objective being, to improve the health of the Electoral Rolls (ER) and to rationalize the Polling Stations (PSs) boundaries and location.
The NERP 2016 will also include enrolment of all eligible citizens and removal of repeated and multiple entries; entries of dead, shifted & absent voters, correction of errors in EPIC and removal of other data errors.
During this drive, repeat images will also be corrected, missing photographs will be collected; poor quality of images will be replaced by good quality photographs.
All the members are therefore, requested to cooperate and attend the meeting positively, with highlights of any action taken, if any, since the last meeting and Action Plan for the current purification drive. Each group may be represented by 1 or up to 2 members.
