Kohima, October 8 (MExN): The Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland V Shashank Shekhar held a meeting through video conference with all the District Election Officers to discuss issues and review the progress of pre-revision activities in connection with Special Summary Revision of Photo Electoral Rolls w.r.t 01/01/2022 as the qualifying date.
In a press release, Alila chang, Assistant Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland stated that the meeting held on October 8 was attended by the Chief Electoral Officer and officers from CEO’s office and the District Election Officers in the districts. The Deputy Commissioners are the designated District Election Officers.
CEO Nagaland appreciated the efforts of the District Election Officers while discharging their official duties. He reminded the officials that the Election Commission is monitoring the progress of various pre-revision and revision activities and exhorted all to complete assigned works within prescribed timelines.
The status of various pre-revision activities such as the status of Garuda App, forms for new voter registration, correction, deletion and transposition, Demographically Similar Entries (DSEs) and Logical Errors were reviewed and taken up with each district. The district officials have also shared issues pertaining to their district.
Issues relating to having an accurate Electoral Roll and Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) were also deliberated. It was discussed that further meetings will be held on these issues and on improving the electoral system in general.
