A cestoball match being played at the Pranabananda Women’s College in Dimapur.
DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 20 (MExN): An upcoming internationally recognized game which goes by the name Cestoball is gaining popularity all over the world including India, has been introduced for the 1st time in Nagaland.
The 1st demonstration match was played by the players of Assam Cestoball Association in the premises of Pranabananda Women’s College on February20. The team was led by Azad Saikia, Cestoball Federation of India’s National Referee, North-East Secretary and Head Coach of Assam Cestoball Association.

Cestoball was a sport created in Argentina in 1897. During the conference in Buenos Aires and Santa Rosa in 1986, the sport changed the name to Cestoball with the purpose of making the old Argentine sport called 'pelota al cesto' (ball to basket) more dynamic and to bring its rules into closer harmony with korfball and netball.
