Kohima, May 5 (MExN): Chakhesang Public Organization (CPO) organised Chakhesang Church Leaders’ Meet on May 4 at Phek Town Baptist Church under the theme “Unity in Christ.’’
Speaking on the occasion, Rev. Dr. Zelhou Keyho, General Secretary, NBCC called upon the church leaders to come and reason together and contribute for the glory of God. “Though we are from different denomination, let us work together and execute the role of leaders,” he urged.
He also stated church and society are inter-connected; therefore, the good deeds contributed by the church will flow to the village and family. He also urged the church leaders to add one language which is the language of love. “We must speak the language of love.”
During the second session, short speeches were delivered by Rev. Dr. Vezopa Tetseo, Executive Secretary, CBCC; Rev. Vevozo Khamo, Executive Secretary, CCCRC; Rev. Thikhuo Phesao, Pastor, AG Church Yoruba village; Rev. Fr. Vemudo Kezo, Principal, DBHS Chiephobozou.
Earlier, CPO President Kekhwengulo Lea acknowledged the different denominations for extending their support towards the CPO. He urged upon the Chakhesang people to love the minority in the community and together uplift the welfare of Chakhesang and to bear good fruits.
Deputy Commissioner of Phek, Murohu Chotso also exhorted the gathering.
Representatives from Chakhesang Students’ Union, Chakhesang Mothers’ Association, Chakhesang Youth Front, former CPO officials, ex-MLAs, pastors, ordained ministers, and church leaders from different denominations attended the meet.
